Titi, I really do have a wish and I’m hoping Santa would grant me this wish of mine and make my Christmas one to look forward to-I need a job.
My story goes thus:
I graduated from the university with a 2:1 in 2005, served in 2006/2007. I got a job in one of the strongest new generation banks here in Lagos in 2007 where I worked as an operations staff until 2011 when I was forced to resign because of the bank’s policy on marriage among staff-I married a colleague.
Since then, I’ve not been able to secure another job. I’ve attended several interviews and what they keep telling me is that I have a gap in my C.V. (Even though I try to explain the gap). I’ve tried my hands in 2 or 3 businesses which failed.
Because I’ve always wanted to be a HR personnel, I registered for CIPMN(Chartered Institute for Personnel Management Nigeria) in June this year ad wrote the August-diet exams which I passed in flying colours. I was meant to register for the February-diet exams but couldn’t because of some family constraints. And even if I pass all the stages of the CIPMN examination and I don’t get to practice HR in a firm for at least 1 year, I won’t get my certificate.
We have a child who’s almost 2 and we’re scared of having another one because we’re very low on finance and would not want to bring into the world, children that we wouldn’t be able to cater for.
My husband has been very wonderful and I need a job to support the family. I’ve always wanted to be a career woman but that dream seems to be fading away gradually as the years go by and I’m beginning to lose my self-worth. I’m almost falling into depression. Titi, please help me become the happy woman I once was. All I need is a job. I’m tired of crying everyday…
